The Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired Word of God, without error in their original manuscripts. This divine inspiration extends fully and equally to all parts of Scripture, making them the only sufficient, certain, and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and practice. John 17:17; Galatians 3:16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21.
There is but one God the Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of all things, having in and of Himself, all perfections, and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience. God exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—each sharing the same divine nature, qualities, and perfections, without division of nature, essence, or being. Matthew 28:19–20; John 1:1-2; Acts 5:3-4; Colossians 2:9.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He is eternally begotten of the Father, and assumed a human nature when he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He perfectly fulfilled the law and died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, physically raised from the dead, and ascended to the Father, where He intercedes for us as our High Priest, Advocate, and Mediator. Luke 1:35; Romans 9:5; 1 Corinthians 15:1–3; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:15–17; 2:9; Hebrews 4:15; 9:24; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 2:24; 3:18; 1 John 2:2.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person who indwells every believer. In this present age, the Spirit restrains evil, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and regenerates and empowers believers for spiritual growth and service. He baptizes believers into the Body of Christ, seals them for the day of redemption, and guides them into all truth. John 14:16–17; 16:7–15; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13, 28–30; Ephesians 2:20-22; 4:1-16, 30; Hebrews 2:1-4; Titus 3:5.
We believe that God created humanity—male and female—in His image. Each person’s biological sex is determined by God, is an unchangeable aspect of their identity, and is determinative of their gender. The first human, Adam, sinned and fell from his original holiness and righteousness. This sin brought both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. As a result, all people, except Jesus Christ, inherit a fallen nature, wholly corrupt and opposed to God, are accountable for their sin, and must be born again. Rejecting one’s God-given biological sex is a rejection of His design. God has ordained institutions such as marriage between a man and a woman, family, and human government to order society according to His plan. Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:3-7; Romans 1:21-32; 3:10-12; 5:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Ephesians 2:1-10; 1 John 1:8-10; Genesis 2:18-25; Colossians 3:18-21; Romans 13:1-7.
We believe that salvation is solely by grace through faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. No human effort can earn this salvation. Those who repent of their sin and trust in Christ’s finished work are born again, receive new life, and become children of God. John 3:16; 6:37; 10:27–30; 2 Corinthians 5:14; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Timothy 2:3-6; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 23; 2 Peter 1:3-4.
We believe that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are part of the universal Church, His Body, of which He is the Head. A local church is a gathering of believers under biblical leadership, committed to worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and observing baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Matthew 16:16–18; Acts 1:4-5; 2:42–47; 11:15-16; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:20–23; Philippians 1:1; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 1 Timothy 3:15.
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. We affirm the bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous resulting in eternal joy and reward for the redeemed and everlasting judgment for those who are lost. Luke 16:19–26; John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:1–15; 21:1–8.
